I had to make a LinkedIn. I just scrolled my feed for about 30 seconds. These people are fucked up lol

A shrine to the cult of the corporation.

I am sorry to say it too but if you are applying for jobs on there maybe stick to Simon until you get a face to face 😕 I have had the unfortunate experience of having to advertise jobs on there and there a known issue/scam/shitfulnes that you get a massive influx of applications (almost immediately) and they are random people from all over the world (many are likely using bots). So a name like Simon from Melbourne actually stands out as non bot-trash.

It sucks. I actually think linked in encourages it because it’s free to advertise a job until the first 50 applicants then they pause it and want you to pay per job view (like 150 bucks a day).

Sorry I have been recruiting for my team so I am scarred the opposite way to you right now.

Ugh, I’ve been in a real slump because I can’t get myself going with uni and it’s putting me into an avoidable emotional spiral. Was supposed to meet a relative but they changed plans last minute, thankfully a friend happened to be coming this way and called to see if I wanted to hang out impromptu. Maybe drop by my place. Yay! Now I have some motivation to clean up and organise myself.

I love the way Gibson looks at me when I’m leaving to go somewhere at night on the weekend.

“Since when do you have a life buddy?”

Just found out the birthday picnic I was going to today got cancelled due to the weather. And I baked muffins and a blondie slice yesterday to bring to said picnic. I now have to eat all of these delicious baked goods myself.

When I getting home last night, the neighbours dog was locked out the front of their place and trying to get in and pretty frantic. Good doggo for not running away.

But they have this nuts security on their front gate. So I pressed the intercom thing… neighbour pressed a button in their house, then all of a sudden a loud alarm went off and 2 massive red lights started flashing for about 10 seconds. Felt dystopian af and scared the shit outta me for few seconds there. She’s a lovely neighbour and was very appreciative, but man, that gate is nightmare fuel.

They had a break in a few years ago where thieves broke in whilst they were sleeping and stole car keys from their bedroom. So the dude went all out security wise. I think she may have pressed the wrong button to open the front gate initially and hit the alarm. Even though I was returning their pooch my first instinct was to run, doggo be damned heh. Definitely did what it was to meant to do.

    We did it!

Now it’s gotta sit there until 8:40pm then go in the fridge for 8 hours. Somehow… the other 3 members of this household are going nuts about it lol.

It went ok with the guests today, she actually seems like a nice lady, very unpretentious. She has more than a few kids and they’re lovely too, I mostly sat and chatted to them about stuff. The Minipeelers ended up liking them too. I’m often too embarrassed and ashamed to have people round to my flat because it’s tbh a tiny shithole, with piles of stuff everywhere and not enough places to sit lol. We haven’t got room for all the Lego, art stuff and general kids things. She gets it though, and I felt at ease with her. Then after they left I grabbed Miniest and she wanted to get a present for her bros birthday, so we went and did that.

    public transport rantTitle

I don’t mind catching public transport in general, but man lately there are just so many fucking weirdos. It’s getting too much; every time I go anywhere it’s drunks ranting at the station, junkies being weird on buses or just odd people doing odd shit near my kids which puts me on high alert and I’ve got to assess whether they’re a genuine threat or dangerous or just a dickhead or mentally ill or what. My kids are being confronted with this shit and it’s not cool. They have a right to feel safe. I’m just bloody sick of it and it’s motivating me to get my licence more than anything else.

Yes, it’s a Basque! Cheesecake is my favourite too. My first attempt at making it, but I had the Minipeelers there to offer guidance and help with mixing. Elder didn’t mind helping to make his own birthday cake, I think he felt very invested in its success.

      First off, cake looks amazing!

      About public transport:

I know how you feel and I’m a relatively tall, athletic-ish guy and it still puts me on edge. And that’s without having kids with me.

If you can, try for your license. I got mine really late, and it’s changed my life. I’ve had some really confronting situations on the train especially and even if I was the victor, my life would be affected in a huge way.

      Fantastic cake!!! Well done!!!

My place is shocking as well and I’m always so embarrassed to have anyone over lol I get it! Partner’s ADHD and my own CPTSD combine equals piles of crap everywhere lol

Amen to your PT rant! I’m always so damn suss about anyone losing their mind in public, be it mental illness, drugs/withdrawals, etc. I can’t imagine how stressful it is when you have kids, nor how stressful it is for your kids. Getting your licence is a great idea!

It does also show how our drug and mental health and homeless programs are failing tho sigh

      Looks absolutely delicious.

Yeah, it’s everywhere at the moment and leaves me very wary. It’s sad - the result of multiple failures of the safety net - but I think of my own safety. People can be unpredictable so I don’t like to go out unless there’s a very good reason.

Hoodie and track pants have been deployed. Have realised most of mine are getting thin and lacking in interior fluff. Think I’ll be hitting the shops for a ‘house clothes’ refresh when the winter stuff comes into the stores.

On my way to get supplies for tomorrow night. Elder has chosen his birthday dinner meal, and it is my sweet plum and ginger chicken with jasmine rice. Then somehow I’ve got to take Miniest shopping for her present to her brother, bake the San Sebastian cheesecake and be there to help entertain guests. Yes, Mr P is having a mate call in with a lady he is seeing and her children 😳🤯 Any other Saturday would’ve been fine but now it’s something I’ve got to fit in. No biggie, they won’t be here very long. My living room looks like a hoarders paradise but I won’t get/make time to get it tidy so stiff cheddar.
