One of my partners got targeted by online harassers years ago because she was involved in online activism, taking over hateful communities on reddit and repurposing their subs, forcing them to move elsewhere. For the last half decade or so, they follow her everywhere on reddit and harass her. There were news articles published about her (which got a LOT wrong) which allowed people to link her online identity to her real life identity. Because of this, every job she’s had since, she’s had to go to HR and her manager and let them know that they will receive phone calls every month from people who will tell them that she is a pedophile and a groomer.

It’s incredibly frustrating that there’s little recognition into this kind of harassment that happens, and even less that can be done legally. I’m sure it’s the same people calling, from the same phone numbers, over and over again and yet no law enforcement shows the least amount of interest in figuring out who they are, so they continue to harass with no consequences.

The fact that Kiwifarms is involved makes me incredibly concerned… I’m really not sure how that website still exists. Fuck
