Godot 4.0 is coming out soon. It includes major improvements all across the board in both features, performance and usability. Still, one of the biggest questions the community has is: How does it compare with mainstream commercial offerings?

    From what’s been shown of the only major AA Godot release I can think of (Sonic Colours Ultimate), the engine has some rendering chops about it but ultimately still lacks some creature comforts and general smoothness.

    With the team talking streaming improvements in Godot 4, it seems like they’re taken some notes and making improvements.
