    this seems to have been posted in the other thread, but i definitely think both non-tech oriented communities and more local communities are underserved in the broader Lemmy sphere. ideally, i think that’s something you’d want to overcome if you want more widespread acceptance of the platform. reddit has a lot of local subreddits communities, and for the most part they’re very successful/active places to chat
