You’re right in one sense that it is a refuge for somewhat level-headed right-wing and
bi-partisancross-party discourse.In another sense it is all about making fun of the caricatures of each political extreme and how they might appear to react to various situations.
People inherently want to feel like they’re part of a group. It also teaches people Left/Right/Auth/Lib meaning
