Discussion of this article on other sites has been awful, so I’m interested to see if Beehaw has any thoughts. The book looks really cool, it’s more tempting than a lot of the more recent books that Wizards has released.

    this is obviously a good thing–but it’s only natural that people would get mad at the idea that it’s bad actually for tabletop gaming to incorporate mythological elements which aren’t strongly associated with europeans, lol. culture war brain is very real for a lot of fragile white men on the internet, and every act which promotes minority cultures or reflects the incredible diversity of the world gets read as white genocide in their minds.
