Lots of things stopping me from doing this:

    1. I am currently 36 years old, I will not be 38 at any time during the year 2024.
    2. I do not own a copy of Wrestlemania 2000.
    3. I finished my pizza rolls yesterday.

I had pizza rolls and played Borderlands 3 last night, but was asleep on the couch at 8:00. I’m 39.

As a 42 year old woman with no work tomorrow, eating takeaway pizza and drinking wine whilst contemplating zelda on the DS I bought over Covid vs a cheesy movie on Hulu this made me smile. :)

Nothing is stopping you from this right now

Except the cost of the console and games. :(

Also, Beetle Adventure Racing > Wrestlemania

Your phone has enough power to emulate an N64 and roms are free. Ain’t nobody making royalties 25 years later on Wrestlemania.

Well, yes, I have a gaming PC as well. (and a steam deck) It just ain’t the same without the OG controller. Need to get a USB one eventually but I’m poor.

I do still have some of my original carts as well. Same with a bunch of NES carts I got from my previous job. Been eyeing those modern consoles that work with NES carts because that would be nice to have in the living room.

Ahhh beetle adventure racing! Brings back memories. I found a legit “cheat” way to play by doing something like turning and then clicking handbrake? A few times and it would take super sharp turns depending on how many times you click handbrake no matter the speed you were going. Allowed be to beat the game and unlock all cars pretty easily.

I want to say yes, but honestly that was such a long time ago. I remember there was an “out of this world” secret car but I don’t remember much else.

They are pretty cheap. Around 50 bucks. With the box around 150. SNES is expensive compared to it. Also, Diddy Kong racing > beetle adventure racing.

Ha! Jokes on you, I’m not 38 until… next week. Guck!

(I meant to type “fuck” but “guck” works just as well.)

Wrestlemania 2000 was cool and all, but WCW/NWO Revenge will always be my GOAT. I remember as a kid being hella impressed by the customization options.

I also owned WCW/NWO Thunder for PS1. Game was dog shit.

I remember Game Grumps playing a wrestlemania game and getting kind of sad because almost all of the Wrestlers depicted had already died.

I don’t think I can be 38 right now unless we want to really break physics. I wouldn’t mind shaving a couple of years off, though.

And I’d have to use that weird-assed controller shudder.

That said, y’all have fun and enjoy it! :)

Google n64 emulator and n64 roms? Pretty easy. I torrented all the games for nes,sega,snes,n64 few years ago and still have it somewhere. Havent played anything in some time

Indeed. Instead be that guy saying “Oh, man… I forgot to check the caps… the motherboard is absolutely corroded and ruined beyond repair!”

Just reminding you if you have any old consoles or other such old electronics. Remember the capacitors.

Pretty sure a N64 can be emulated on a raspberry pi 5.

Granted it’s probably easier to get a N64 than a pi5… but still. For those folks that want to play… It’s possible.

Also I hear steam deck is a great way to emulate it…

They were a really impressive little piece of kit. With no extra peripherals, I was able to play NES on one core, and use FFMPEG on the other three to encode and stream to Twitch with mono sound. For $35. Probably my favorite gadget of it’s time.
