My theory is that this is a play by the right to try an undermine anecdotal evidence and accounts used to persuade people. About a decade ago, the left tried to use data driven arguments while the right use anecdotal evidence, and studies have shown anecdotal evidence to be more persuasive. Now, the left has learned from its mistakes and is using anecdotal evidence and accounts, and it is proving to be effective in undermining the right.

Instead of pointing out the hypocrisy of Christians saying empathy is bad, because it doesn’t work, the left should lean into this narrative. Empathy is a way people will exploit you, data driven studies are the only thing you can rely on. Then fallow that up with explaining how to know if you can trust a data source.

If the left and use the rights own strategy against them instead of trying to fight against the strategy, it will be much more effective. They may be able to start realizing that global warming is real, and racism still exist in this country.

Mortgage rates are not the issue, is the quarter to half million they want for a bungalow that was built in the 50s. Houses are unaffordable because the housing market is the highest its ever been. People treating houses as investments isn’t helping the problem. 1/3 of all homes in my city are rentals.

This seems like a snake eating its own tail to me. They already don’t have enough teachers, so now they are trying to limit the number of teachers further. They have one of the worst education systems in the country. And one wants to work for school in Oklahoma because it pays shit (Detroit public schools pays better).

I have so many questions and I don’t want any of them answered.

I had one of these jobs for about three months, they sound better than they really are. You spend 8 hours monitoring your company issued laptop for random messages from your boss. You can’t do anything that takes you away from that device. After a while you run out of shows to stream and video games to play, or you become depressed and loose interest.

I thought about joining an online D&D game but I would still get pulled into random teams meeting where in wouldn’t say or do anything, so I couldn’t commit to 4 hours uninterrupted.

The key issue wasn’t money, its that this company pushed a disabled person off to the side and hoped she would just leave. Getting paid to do nothing seems great but gets old fast, especially if you have to be accessible through a company computer. You are stuck at home monitoring a company devise for hours on the off chance some messages you. In addition to this, there is no hope of a promotion because you have no work to be promoted for.

To be honest, I think that was probably to appropriate response. Information about ps/2 is not really relevant to them or any customer that they are going to help

I stopped playing D&D 2 years ago and switched to other systems (GURPS), and I stopped playing Magic a decade ago. If he wants to buy a dumpster fire, I say let him.

Raising minimum wage won’t do shit, just cause more inflation. Deal with the real problem, cap the highest paid employee at 10x the lowest paid employee. CEO wants a million dollar salary, has to pay the grunts 100k first.

I played magic competitively and never noticed this.

The trick is to be just competent enough that you are better than nothing, but so incompetent that it takes twice as long to get shit done. Like I work with two guys like that right now. They are going to get 75% of their work done at the deadline and have an excuse for the last 25%. Then that 25% will be used to extend the next deadline and then they will do it again. By the time we get to the end of the project they will have caused weeks of delays, but its still better than having no one to do the work.

It is a little hard to watch a movie where the hero saves the day from evil when you have a villain in the white house.
