mmmh it should be made a monthly thread for general discussions right in this sub i think

@poVoq@slrpnk.net do you know if there is already something like automod that can create the thread every month without humans involved?lol

imo the wiki could be shared with sunbeam the mastodon instance that already has a wiki

or just post stuff directly to appropedia :)

For other services… Idk, prob would be better to focus on empowering lemmy first

you just needed to ask tbh :P

ye reddit is still one of the ‘‘good’’ socials in the mainstream, so it’s harder to make it fly right now like mastodon that replaces twitter and, in some cases, facebook and instagram

In Italy we have Poste Italiane using these: https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/4MWRK/s3/quadriciclo-poste.jpg

Honestly I like the idea of micro mobility for delivery: more adaptable for cycling cities and, hopefully, better to avoid one single courier having to cover a big chunk of a city leading to work at a very high pace…

If someone put the drivers of these little cars in dangers, the problem is not the little car but those that put it in danger!

it’s lemmy being broken on safari since last update, nothing too worry about too much it’s just a matter of bug fixing and waiting

Suggested read even to non software people because it underlines some issues with activism in general :) The wanting everything at once and the not focusing on the power you have!

We need some posts written by us to do that without being spammers

Messages and emails instead don’t require content, feel free to contribute :P

It depends on the country. XR UK yes, XR USA idk, but, for example, in Italy, they are fine.

Don’t assume that every of them is the same.

messages in mastodon are private toots basically, that could be why… Also in lemmy they are only in notifications; basically they both handle messages in weird ways I don’t think it’s a federation issue, per now.

Here we have some tech workers coalition members but idk about xr

What did you want to know specifically?:P

You search for the app you need/want and, if someone already tested it, you’ll know if it’s compatible with a phone without google services :o

In my opinion it makes sense to pose the question, even tho there has to be traced a categorization line.

In a solarpunk utopia, there probably wouldn’t be macro transgression as we can see in the society right now, unless we put ‘‘terrorist’’ groups under the transgression label.

But there would sure be in micro settings: what we think about an edgy teen today can exist even in the ‘‘perfect society’’. The son of a farmer posting online videos of him wasting food, someone kicking animals, little bullies gang as forms of transgression… Also even just sticking out in themed events by going against the theme.

I have to note tho that in a perfect setting I think the majority of people should channel these kind of emotions where it’s fine to do so: into competitive sports.

No… I mean that knowing which is the most dangerous crypto doesn’t add anything to the solutions list; they can waste energy like a small city or like a big country but it’s still wasted energy + all the issues they bring. Even if someone fixes his/her own mind thinking to a paper like that, still it lets the person with no real solutions to adopt and no framework to avoid the next poocoin :o

I don’t think it makes much sense for a list like this honestly… We should focus on solutions, not the issues :)

At least in the solarpunk theory community lol

I mean… It’s about understanding a little of the tech, understanding the governance, understanding the cash flow…

Scams usually follow the rug pull scheme, basically giving away coins in a limited way that the owner can control…

Circles btw it’s a project of a different kind, not just a coin.

Could you elaborate on why it slows down big infrastructures autonomy ?

I don’t know where you are from but where I live the national health system is pubicly funded and imagine if people start using a currency that can’t be taxer nor donated to this kind of big and hard to mantain and organize systems

Also the fact that for a lot of technology there still can’t be a viable full local alternative and so it’s another layer of difficulty in not ruining things while trying to improve them

Sorry for the less clear answer :P
