“Wether it dating, sex, relationships or what we think about men farting all the time, we’ll tell you what’s REALLY on our minds, and no, we’re not ‘fine’ come join and start the discussion!” – are you kidding me or are you also trolling?

I kinda wish that Lemmy people would be better at identifying who is a nazi and who is just slightly right of them :) I’m not that fragile that I would be utterly shattered if somebody mislabels me so this is not a big deal personally. But my more general point is that nazism is a real, serious and growing problem, and calling almost everyone a nazi is not helping with that problem at all.

That’s gonna be a popular sub for sure.

Well that’s neat editorializing there. I said “might have stolen … over the last several decades”. And you molded that into claiming that I’m implying “definitely 100% for sure in 2022 stole everything we have those miserable thiefs”.

You even admitted that the Western competitors are still scrambling to bring products to market.

If people sometimes wonder why we westerners don’t like to talk about the good things China does, one of the reasons might be that every time we do that, pro-China people start jeering: “lol, you even admitted that China did something right you fucking idiot”. Yes, I “admit” that somebody does something right when they do something right. What the fuck do you do? Do you first see who is doing the right thing, and if it’s your archenemy, you ignore it? That’s fucked, man.

Not exactly key tech, but this can be seen in robot vacuums. Roomba was the premium producer there for a long time, but currently their devices are rather mediocre compared to the latest models designed in China. And like the article mentions, 5G. Nokia and Ericsson were desperately trying to finish their models, but Huawei beat them so badly to the finish line that almost every current 5G connection in Europe is delivered by them.

Hopefully we can rise to the challenge by being better. Mourning over the possibility that the chinese might have stolen a lot of our designs over the last several decades is not going to help. The only thing that matters now is getting off our asses and doing as good work as we can.

I’d also recommend installing Linux on it, although with the caveat that if the hardware is very new, you might want to postpone that decision for half a year or so. Then again, these days it’s not that clear – my gaming laptop (Asus Zephyrus G14) keeps hard crashing on Windows, and works just fine on Linux. And these days Linux/Proton plays all Windows games almost as well as Windows, some even better.

Fedora or Ubuntu are both rather easy distros.

Yep. Putin is the only person on this planet who’s actively keeping it up.

“Oho!” said the pot to the kettle; “You are dirty and ugly and black! Sure no one would think you were metal, Except when you’re given a crack.”

“Not so! not so!” kettle said to the pot; “'Tis your own dirty image you see; For I am so clean – without blemish or blot – That your blackness is mirrored in me.”

I hope they have concerns beyond “we’re afraid you might lose this thing incredibly badly”.

I believe uBlock Origin effectively blocks youtube ads. Also yt-dlp ignores them.

Too bad for the plebs who don’t know about these tools though.

This provides evidence that NATO was not the reason for the war.

Ah ok, well that explains why it’s suggested. It doesn’t explain the dissonance, but people are never and aren’t supposed to be 100% logical of course :)

Lemmygrad.ml is afaik a pro-russian instance, so it’s a bit weird when LGBTQ+ people would suggest being safe there – given how vehemently anti-LGBTQ Russia is. But could be that the Ukraine war is somehow muddling the waters and I’m not seeing them correctly.

We have similar nutjobs in Finland in the “True Finns” party. Polls so far are not promising them much gains, with most gains going to the moderate conservatives (Kokoomus). Polls often make mistakes though.

TSMC seems to be starting 3nm processes though. Is this really on par with them?

edit TSMC had 7nm in 2016.

Gotta say that I would have never independently linked this image to that comic.
