The first major presidential candidate to accept bitcoin (and crypto) donations? Still a shitty candidate, like Biden, but at least the Donald is more innovative than su abuelo Biden.

Thoughts on this?

I guess the critics were right: crypto is used for supporting criminal activities.

I don’t donate to any party, but Trump accepting crypto immediately makes it look like a scam. I don’t think it really changes how people see the US dollar, it just makes Trump seem desperate. Why else would a man so devoted to enforcing backwards 1950s values suddenly become accepting of something like crypto?

Because literally everyone in the US accepts the dollar? Trump wouldn’t risk using something he definitely doesn’t understand, such as crypto, unless someone convinced him it was a new way to bilk people out of their money. If Vivek Ramaswamy convinced him to use it then they are definitely trying to do something underhanded with crypto

Don’t give your coins to politicians, kids. They’ll just become dependent and less able to survive in the wild.

Trump can say and do whatever he wants. It all sounds like a blur of horseshit to me. We’d be better off if he stuck with the NFTs and spare Bitcoin his grifty reputation.
