Exciting news! Lemma got the green light for testing on TestFlight! I was totally stoked to see so many of you signing up for testing—I never expected this much interest. For now, I’ve closed the signup form to get some initial impressions and work from there. I’ve invited everyone who signed up through the form to TestFlight. I’m not super familiar with this stuff, but fingers crossed everything works out fine. I’ll check later to make sure all the invites went out. So, if you haven’t received anything yet, just hang tight, and I’ll keep you guys in the loop. Once we’ve ironed out the kinks, I’ll share the TestFlight link so others can join in too.
Lemma began as my little pet project, but I’m really proud of what it’s turned into. I’ve spent weeks fine-tuning little details to get it just as I wanted it to be. In the last few weeks, I’ve been off from work because I’m starting a new job later in August. And guess what? I managed to release it right before I’m going away on a little holiday trip, with a few hours to spare! Woohoo! 😄
But don’t worry, I’ll still be keeping an eye on the Lemma community to catch those first impressions, even though I won’t be too active during the coming week.
I’m super curious to hear what you all think about Lemma, so please shoot any feedback (good or bad) over to the Lemma community. Just a small favor, though: make sure to check if someone else already reported the same issue before you post, so we can keep things a little organized.
Alright, that’s it for now. Enjoy Lemma, folks! 🚀
This is the 7th (!) Lemmy App on my phone and if you ignore the fact that you can’t post, it is already the best in this first testflight build in my opinion. Renders super quickly so scrolling is lightning fast. And it is very pleasing for the eye. Looking forward for the next builds!

Voyager is still my favorite and I used to have all the same apps as you installed. I recently removed them and stuck with only voyager.
Anyway lemma does look super nice but had a lot of bugs. I’ll be watching it closely.
Edit: so subscription view was really buggy but all view worked really smooth!
I also kept going back to voyager, it’s working the best and has the most complete feature set of any of them. But I have my small issues with it due to it beings web app that probably won’t go away
Have you tried the native app? I was also on the fence with it being pwa but the native app feels like I’m still using Apollo.
Yeah I’m using the native app and it’s nice and even better than the plain PWA. Some small annoyances remain, though, such as the scrolling freeze, back gesture accidental upvote etc. Still my main app currently and I definitely like it, but I’d still prefer a completely native app if there’s one that comes close and this one looks like it might one day :)
Any timeline for the next TestFlight join time? Super excited to try this app out!
Noooo I missed the TestFlight sign-up! Can’t wait to see it reopen for a bit!
I’m absolutely in love with this app. It feels super snappy and there’s already a lot more to it than I was expecting. Looks great as well. Sadly I can’t yet go all in since it’s missing some basic features or they’re still having issues (posting, editing, replying). But it’s already really great for lurking^^
I’ve added a bunch of bug reports already, I hope that doesn’t come across as mean. Really impressed :)
Is it written in Swift/SwiftUI? Do you plan on taking this open source or would you rather keep it closed?
EDIT: Just saw it’s a closed beta. Good luck with the development!
I hope you’re enjoying your vacation and don’t think about work too much. I know I’d be super tempted to at least fix a small bug here and there.
Don’t!
There’s no hurry!^^
I didn’t receive the invitation :(
