Bollard rule
Leave him alone, he’s on break
I had a dream of suburbia, with all the lawns all done up, and everyone making six figures with all their garbage organized neatly.
I kept trying to tell them it was a problem. I saw the garbage trucks driving around on their own, at night, when people were asleep. People had to divide their recycling into 39 different categories, to make sure to be responsible, and so the garbage trucks were growing these huge horizontal arrays in front, with spikes, so they could pick up all the bins at once and be efficient. They said it was just for the recycling, and they were being responsible and efficient.
I kept trying to tell them it was a problem. At night when they were sleeping, I watched the cranes that were putting up all the new condos have their own life. They would swing around, the elevators would go up and down.
Maybe the bollards were in on it too, to go to places the trucks and cranes couldn’t fit into. I never saw them walk around, but I woke up before I saw too much of what they were planning.
