    For the little that it’s worth, the decision has already been reversed. We haven’t quite punched all the way through the floor yet, though the MAGAs are trying.

    Also, just a reminder that the details of the American system are a dry-rotted antique. For all of its craziness, Texas votes red by about a 5:4 -ish ratio in Presidental-year elections, but because it’s a persistent 5:4, Republicans get all the statewide offices, all the electoral college votes, and all the re-districting committee votes. Trump’s vote percentage was the third lowest of all states that went red in 2020, yet here we are. Ugh.

      You could probably fix that 5:4 by splitting Texas into five states drawn around major metroplexes. At least two of the states would be blue as long as you gave Waco to DFW or East TX.
