Thanks for this post. I was always on reddit, but moved to Lemmy and trying to find my way around. This helps!
Feel free if you have any questions!
Thanks! will do! getting used to Lemmy and finding stuff what i like ;) I am registered to lemmy.world, but can i also find posts on the other instances? I also need to oganise my subscriptions and the look and feel if you know what i mean ;)
Yes, you can definitely see posts and communities from other instances.
!communitypromo@lemmy.ca is a good place to discover active communities
Thank you! this is (again) very helpful!
https://lemmyverse.net/communities is helpful to find new communities
thnx!!!
One thing I really like is that you can block whole instances. For example I don’t care about anime so I blocked ani.social instead of having to block every comunity ralted to anime which will be hostet on ani.social anyway.
thanks for that! I didn’t know that, very cool indeed!!!
I found this post super useful! Thank you very much for sharing it!
Happy to help!
Welcome new lemmings!
It’s a good way to ”half quit” your Reddit addiction also. :)
I definitely feel it on Lemmy. I can walk away when I’m bored and rarely get trapped by my own custom mind control algorithm that Reddit had built for me.
Here is my version of the “I switched to lemmy” post, it got quite some traction: https://www.reddit.com/r/BuyFromEU/s/DHHl7jxcua
Yes, I referenced it in mine!
There has been traction in that subreddit? Like specifically about lemmy/alternatives? Interesting, and very well written post Blaze!
I shared a few posts on !fedibridge@lemmy.dbzer0.com about that sub recently, so I would say yes
