An addendum to my previous post. Maybe it wasn’t just a VR headset but a VR console?

That’s what it seems like. SadlyItsBradley has been making videos about a bunch of small details that make it seem like they’re targeting a “spatial computing” gaming headset or something. Whatever the case, following whatever this is has been a rollercoaster lmao

I’d prefer the hardware to be integrated in the headset but we haven’t quite managed to squish hardware with enough power to run Half Life: Alyx into a Switch form factor, let alone a Meta Quest form factor with little in the way of cooling. So i guess i’m fine with a box.

I think the Meta Quest hit the right compromise.

A mobile processor for watching YouTube, browsing the web, running the basic system interface, and playing lofi games like cubism, and a protocol for connecting wirelessly to a PC when you need more power.

This system can be very flexible, because the oc part can be replaced separately from the headset, and can be as big and powerful or as small and portable as you need.
