Looks like Google is dumping the podcasts app and moving it all to Youtube music.
I’m not MAD, I’m just disappointed. And glad I stayed on other apps for podcasts this whole time. Counting the days until they kill YouTube Music for yet another new app that does mostly the same thing but shittier for a couple years until they rinse and repeat the cycle.
Never forget.
Never trust anything Google does anymore. Replacing gmail will probably be a huge pain in the ass whenever that day comes when they neuter or replace that service.
Knowing Google, they’ll probably replace GMail with the messages app on your phone
Rarely has a transition not had a significant and lasting negative impact on the user experience
Ill probably go to a different app but it does kinda make sense to consolidate functionally identical audio apps into one.
I used it because it was separate so when I open the app it just had podcasts and didn’t try and play music from 2 hours ago.
Oh my god are you serious. I suspected as much when they started with Podcasts on YouTube Music. They always deny it at first and then they still do it…

It’s not really shutting down; it’s just consolidating the media to the more well known brand.
