Better than the low IQ “you have phone therefore car’s data collection is fine” defeatist nonsense.

But still big concern, but more likely to be borne from legal, warranty and insurance concerns.

(You drove to AREA that was declared UNSAFE and applied 100% THROTTLE for more than 5.6 seconds. A safe parking surcharge will be applied to your bill next payment period. your powertrain warranty is also void due to VEHICLE ABUSE, thank you for being a loyal INSURANCE and MANUFACTURER customer! Remember to lock your vehicle and store valuables out of sight or on your person!)

Yes I know it’s an exaggeration but Toyota for example collects metrics, speed, location, etc. and also offers to share it with your insurance company. Which also offer their own plug-in gadgets or apps that track driving - those “running red is safer than braking hard” type systems. And if famously honest dealers could get their hands on that data too…

Or purchased by law enforcement. “I want the identity of the owner of every OnStar vehicle that was within 600 feet of this Planned Parenthood and duration of stay.”

The same defeatist IQ in my opinion

And the vibes of a genZ/factchecker or the like, incapable of theorizing the “possible”
