But for real, I think she needs an editor. For all the problematic content the Harry Potter books still worked to the end as a story. Everything past that completely flew off any rails and I have the feeling there is nobody anymore who tells her “no, that doesn’t make any sense you should rewrite this”.
If you line all the books up next to each other on a shelf, you can see the exact moment she either stopped having an editor or stopped listening to them.

Probably spelled Padad.
Almost certainly
The lack of Irish characters implies there is a Irish version of Hogwarts.
The English either never invited them to the Triwizard tournament because of history, or there was simply one too many drunken brawls for the Quad wizard tourney to continue.
Yea, but the English were invited, and English sports hooligans are notorious for being one of the angriest, drunkest groups around.
Yeah, but only around the time of sports matches. That makes it predictable, and the anti-hooligan magic can be more effeciently focused. It’s actually a little-known fact that Quidditch matches are timed with the solstice so that the anti-hooligan wards are at their strongest.
The Irish are much more unpredictable with their drunken hooliganism, so in the early days they used to break through the wards by accident and go on drunken rampages across Wales before eventually being segregated to their own, smaller island.
Seamus finnegan?
I think you’re right, there is likely an Irish version of hogwarts. I base this more on the Irish having their own quidditch team than anything else.
that would mean theres also a wizarding school in Chudley, England.
National team vs regional team.
Seamus Finnegan? finnegan is an irish surname.
Yeah him, the character that’s constantly blowing stuff up, accidentally and intentionally. No stereotyping there.
To be fair – and I cannot believe I am using those words in relation to the author – he doesn’t actually blow anything up in the books.
I’m guessing Mick is trans too.
they themmington has potential tho
No but there’s a character who’s trans or trans coded in one of her strike crime novels that gets threatened with rape and is a suspected sex offender too.
For English TV and film, the Irish character has to be an ignorant stereotype. Fawlty towers, Harry Potter and many others.
In American TV and film, the Irish characters are feisty, drink a lot, and get into fights.
Tom Branson in Downton Abbey isn’t written that way. He’s a revolutionary, sure, but he is pretty smart.
Scotty McScotchdrunkard was left on the cutting room floor.
