Do game tape breakdowns bear this out, or is he just stuck on a team with the most CPU-created Madden players imaginable

I feel like it’s everything with this team

If he’s on target, guys are dropping it

When they get open, he misses them

He has awful INTs that seem to come at the worst time

Just a mess of a team

The tape is next level awful. Mechanics, decisions making, arm talent, ball placement, everything sucks majorly right now.

I’m no expert but I would say yes. The QB School on Youtube broke down a few of his games and he is making boneheaded decisions, has bad footwork, and collapses under even the slightest pressure. There are plenty of times he has time to throw and a receiver is NFL open but he panics and the play falls apart.

He’s been bad, but part of this is probably people inside the Patriots organization unable to accept that the average quarterback is not Tom Brady and can’t fix everything himself. Might be time to reexamine other aspects of the organization as well.

“They’ve been sold this smart, efficient, game-managing quarterback and they’re not getting it.”

    That’s on the organization…

It’s almost like the “if you’re always eating shit, you think shit tastes pretty good.” but the opposite. Some of those old goons will think every QB is Brady until the day they die.

      This is exactly right.

You can get away with having a mediocre roster when you have the GOAT at QB.

Not to mention Brady was taking pay cut year after year.

I will always be a Mac fan. I hate not knowing what could have been if he had a real OC in his second year. His growth looked exponential and hit a brick wall.

Yeah, also his best offensive weapon is Mondre, who no shade to him, is a borderline RB1. Kendrick was looking promising but he’s gone. The ghosts of Henry, Parker, and Juju are not a receiving corps.

Or literally the reason you’d ever think Mac is a first round pick was due to his “smarts” and decision making versus his physical skills, so then when it turns out he’s actually not smart enough to make up for his other shortcomings of course you’d be frustrated.

      “They got sold…”

And then they immediately beat it out of him because he disagreed with the OC sometimes.

Funny how when you completely fuck up development of your players they don’t do well innit….

Isn’t that why they brought back “qb guru” Bill O’Brien? When he wants to, he can coach up a journeyman to career high stats, but if he’s dealt a shit hand, like getting Osweiler when he wasn’t consulted, he’ll forego trying as hard, dropping any attempt to work on fundamentals until he’s givin another toy to work with

Man can you imagine what a luxury it would be to have Tom Brady on your team running the offense for 15+ years? Like what did the offensive coaches even do?

I can’t imagine what last year did to him. Two guys who had no experience being an offensive coordinator in the NFL probably competing for power in the org running one of the least talented offenses in the NFL can’t have been good for his growth into a mature NFL QB.

They’ve been sold this smart, efficient, game-managing quarterback and they’re not getting it.

They should sue whoever sold them damaged goods! Really though as frustrated as they are with Mac the language used in the article reeks of lack of accountability from the front office staff. Could just be poor journalism, idk.

The Patriots front office has a direct line to the Boston Globe. This is the routine hatchet job any player or coach gets from Boston sports orgs when they disappoint. (Ask Red Sox players and staff what it’s like to leave!) Wouldn’t surprise me if BB was dictating this line by line.

If it’s not poor journalism, it’s the front office staff. These are the same people who saw Patricia absolutely devastate the lions in 2.5 years and decide that he’s still good enough to not only be back on the staff but also to be an OC. Like are you fucking kidding me. In what damn world do you do a piss poor job as an HC and get rewarded with a coordinator position, the Patriots, that’s where
