Bought a 15 pro max.i absolutely hate the size and how it’s literally a different device class and experience versus a normal size phone. But the battery life is amazing
Some days I wish it was like three inches bigger (diagonally) and some days I wish it was the size and shape (so much curve) as the 3G.
I was really tempted to upgrade ’down’ to the regular Pro from the 14PM but there’s something nice about pretty much never needing to worry about battery, no matter how I use it throughout the day.
I bought a 15 Pro Max coming from an 11 Pro Max. Battery life was stellar, just couldn’t take the size of it, I felt like my hand was cramping and I hated not being able to really use one handed.
I exchanged it for a 15 Pro. The phone is very comfortable in the hand, if not a tad on the small side. Battery life has been a pretty big step down. It’s not that it’s bad per se, it’s fine, but definitely leaves you wanting a little more, whereas the pro max would just go and go.
Not entirely sure what I want to do. One hand-ability of Pro or insane battery of Pro Max…
strange things in life happen. i bought a 15PM. i was in an accident and now my right hand is in a cast for 2 months. the phone is now borderline unusable for me and a realsource of stress. people never think of weird circumstances like mine but they exist. its REAALLY difficult usingit with one hand and yeah… just something ppl dont talk about
I got a 15 PM and my wife wanted the regular 15. To me, they aren’t all that different in size, not as much as I expected at least. Now the weight is a whole other story lol.
Some tests the 15 plus wins so I guess it depends on if the app that running allows the 15 pro to go down to less than 60hz which would give it the advantage over the plus.
A lot of the tests were done before the 15 pro max got the ios update to fix overheating issues. Now the pro max has better battery life from what I’ve seen, though this video cuts it very close.
So the 15 Plus and Pro Max models are now on par with each other and now within a margin of error?
I’ve upgraded every year since the original iPhone and the iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 15 Pro Max is one of the worst upgrades ever. It’s still a great iPhone though. However, the battery life has been very disappointing.
It just seems really inconsistent. I don’t have much to base this on, but it feels like Apple made the 15 Pro faster at the expense of heat and battery efficiency, which is a shame because the speed difference is lost on me.
It really seems to make a difference when using the camera. My battery drained swiftly and I got heat warnings when shooting recently around some Mayan ruins. Yeah, it was hot, but my iPhone 14 Pro Max didn’t suffer the same under such conditions.
I hope next year Apple focuses on battery efficiency.
There’s likely something else happening there because my same upgrade path has shown very strong battery on the 15PM. I feel comfortable only charging to 80% each day and end the day with 40-50% battery remaining.
Why do you upgrade every year?
What did you do on the 14 that you were unable to do on the 13?
I upgrade every year because I have plenty of money and I use my iPhone so much that even a modest upgrade is worthwhile.
The 14 Pro Max improved with Dynamic Island, a much more improved camera, slightly smaller bezels, Always on Display and still had better battery life.
Why do you care what a person does with their money? Live and let live.
Well, obviously you’ll buy no matter what, so…
You ARE the problem! 😂
Just got the 15 pro max. Seems to use about 50% a day with pretty heavy / mixed use.
Which feels on par with the 13 pro I had before. So not really much of an upgrade.
I have the 15pro and can barely get 5 hours screen time from it. Worst battery in an iPhone for many years.
I think this trend isn’t terribly recent. My 13 Pro Max lasts dramatically longer than my partners 13 Pro. Both bought at the same time, and same battery health. For the last several years, it seems like the non-Max Pro has been the worst battery performer (aside from the Mini, of course).
iphone 16 will fix battery issues and ios18 will be bug free software we have ever made
i tried it for like 10 days recently and the worst part is that battery is ok. it’s not outright bad to make the switch to other model simple and it’s not great so you keep doubting the decision of getting pro instead of max
Not trying to be snarky, but are you sure there isn’t something wrong with your phone’s battery, or have you not updated iOS?
5 hours usually leaves me with 40-50% depending exactly on what I did that day.
What does your usage in those 5 hours comprise of?
I barely get 4 hrs before I reach 30%. This is just the news app, music (in background), and some messaging.
Yeah what’s going on. I use my 15 pro as the lightest possible use, the same way I used my 6S. Basic 3rd party Reddit app that’s all text, a couple of safari google searches, 20 photos. I even have promotion OFF (60hz) and AOD off. Indoors so way below max brightness.
2h 30 screen time used up 40% of my battery. That puts me at 6 hours with the most basic possible use. I see YouTube battery tests and they get 9 hours with heavy use, zoom calls, games, YouTube instagram etc. . I’m on 17.0.3.
That’s definitely seems like a bug in software… or you got the worlds worst battery
14 pro was the worst for me, this one is about the same. Was a huge drop from the 13 and prior
You might want to do hard reset on your phone.
I’m always so curious what people do on their phones for the Pro / Pro Max battery to not cut it…
I have a 13 Mini and with my current usage patterns can get over 8 hours on the regular…
Exactly what we’re doing now except for the whole day lol
Wow that’s insanely bad. That’s easily less than half as good as my 15+
Go cry, then get another android phone like everyone in this sub lol
moved from an 11 pro max to a 15 pro and i hated it tbh since id have to charge it again during the day to feel better. i replaced the pro with a 15 plus and the battery is god like. from charging it on friday morning to using it throughout the weekend i was at 58% when i set it to charge on monday.
How is it possible to compare new phones to old? Newer batteries always have less degradation than old, even if the old phone is completely unused.
It’s all about the apps.
I guess I need to be a tester for this so I can prove them wrong 😂
My 15 Plus has crazy battery life.
My 15 pro has worse battery life than my iPhone 11 after 4 years of use :-/
I have a pro max and my wife has a 15 plus and hers gets crazy battery life
Same, went into work with 28% and it was no big deal. Came home with 9%. With my old phone I had to leave fully charged and would get home with low battery.
I have a 12 Mini and even with light use I had to set it to go to Low Battery mode when it gets to 40% just to make it through the day lol.
Dude I had to charge mine so many times a day it was so annoying. Especially if I used it for any YouTube or maps.
If I only used it for WhatsApp and calls if would last a day.
Oh maps seem to be such a battery killer!
The form factor of the Mini is so perfect otherwise though IMO.
Same on mine, it’s such a breath of fresh air from my previous 12 mini.
Not very impressive. Only 40 more minutes than my current iPhone 11 Pro Max.
