Big Star was such a mess. Should’ve been a bigger act, but the record label didn’t handle them well. Now they’re best known for a song (mainly as a cover by a different 70s rock act) that was used as a TV show theme
Edit: to clarify, I’m referring to That 70s Show, which used a cover of In the Street by Cheap Trick as its theme song (although the season 1 song was performed by someone else)
I only discovered them via Teenage Fanclub, who basically took Big Star’s sound and built a career on it.
