I love the idea.
I’m skeptical that our City Council will ensure it gets maintained properly once it’s built. They can feed those dollars to out-of-state developers in exchange for campaign donations.
I really hope they don’t choose the option with active roads crossing through the park.
This has been a long time in the making. Though I do not live downtown, I could very much see my family and I spending a day at a park like this.
I am concerned with the paid parking situation downtown. We need better public transportation for the people who want to visit but can’t afford parking.

The park-and-ride option for the streetcar is a VERY good option. (KC Public Trans is fare-free through this year, hopefully it’ll be renewed.) There are several places along or near the line where you can park for free and streetcar into downtown. 3rd street’s probably the easiest, but I work near Union Station so I usually park around there. That’s what I did for Comicon back in March.
