Honestly it’s not a bad thing. You have great analog control, bunch of buttons, comfortable to hold, proven and reliable tech, many people are already experienced with it.
I’ve seen similar in tanks and such, looks like they just made a different plastic shell because whatever brand didn’t want to be associated with it.
