Craziness happening at Carowinds as it appears Fury 325 has an entire support that cracked and isn’t supporting the track at all. This has the possibility of killing the ride for the season but we’ll have to see how it plays out.

Wow, how on earth does this get missed long enough to get to this point? That’s the most alarming part here.

That’s a very good question… One would think that would have had to start showing signs of cracking before it let go. I’m not sure how often parks do in depth inspections like that but you would think someone should have caught it before it let go.

Reality is that no one was likely in any danger because the neighbouring supports would still be enough to handle it (in the video you can see very little movement) for a while but I’m still really surprised to see it get to that point.

Yeah, surely a crack like that must have been propagating for quite some time to get to that point.

holy hell. I’ve ridden Fury dozens of times. Crazy to see such structural damage on a coaster built so close to home

Yea it’s insane… I don’t know if any other B&M has had anything like this happen… Hell, I can’t really think of any coaster where something got to this point.
