I just downloaded stremio and added torrentio to it for my sister. Now I’ve never used stremio myself. Is there any potential issue of doing so without db?

Yep, you can. I did it that way for about a month before i got a debrid account. The selection isn’t as great since some torrents are dead and since you’re torrenting you’re at the mercy of the seeders. Also you should be using a VPN while you stream so you don’t get a whiny email from your ISP. But i had no trouble watching popular stuff without a db account.
