Hello Folks and Welcome,

I was kind of hoping someone else would take the reins and start up a Chibike community here, but that didn’t happen and today is the start of the blackout so I’m trying to keep busy.

r/ChiBike had a great community and some really good content and I would love to see some of that migrate over here to midwest.social. That wasn’t going to happen if there wasn’t a dedicated space to land, so here we are, welcome.

Feel free to join the party and stretch out your legs, share some bike shots, promote a ride your hosting/joining, complain about drivers, and make some friends!

(If you’re interested in modding let me know, I could probably use another set of eyes/hands if this really gets going)

    Hello and welcome!

I’ve been thinking about posting in the sub to see if we can get any converts but I just haven’t had the bandwidth to do it. If you wanted to try, it would definitely be appreciated!

I never really looked into bike tag but I knew it was something that was really picking up steam in the sub as of late, it would be interesting to see if we could get something similar going here.

already done! hope to see some folks trickling in here soon, especially after tomorrow when 3rd-party Reddit apps are kaput. in the meantime I’ll be crossposting some events when relevant.

I’m out of town for a wedding/unintentional NASCAR & smoke avoidance, when I’m back next week I can start it up. basic idea for bike tag is take a photo of your bike in a mystery location. if you get it, post your bike in the mystery location, take another photo in a new location, and link to the previous post. after a week if nobody gets it, drop a heavy hint.

the Sarah Likes Bikes tracker is for bike tag! not sure how it integrates with Lemmy, we’ll just have to figure it out.
