Scientists say July 4 could have been the hottest day on Earth in as many as 125,000 years.

Many believers look forward to the Apocalypse. Whatever happens, it must be a part of The Plan.

This is what always made me wonder about Gail the actuary.

I just found Peter Turchin, from a YouTube video. It would me nice if an AI or model would actually have an optimistic prediction.

This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.
