    Just raising revenue. Cut down on vehicular traffic in cities and they’ll be far safer than any automated enforcement could ever hope to achieve.

      A city I lived in had automated traffic light enforcement. The city council received a report that it had neither reduced the danger at the intersections in question, nor had the program created enough revenue to pay for itself.

      They kept it.

    It isn’t about safety…never was. Proof you ask? Well I know in Baltimore the companies were working to shorten yellow light times, shorter than minimum safety times to catch more folks, despite all research showing longer yellow times prevent accidents.

    Also the cameras are not calibrated correctly.
