Seem, I always defended the game just based on “linear isnt bad”, not really thinking about the reasons why its linear.

Ive also always been confused why FFX is well liked despite… also being very linear up until it opens up at the end? But XIII got memed for hallways???

As much as I love FF9, it’s painful to play in its original form. As the series’ writing got worse, its gameplay got better - I don’t remember the story from any of the recent entries (since 15) but I remember liking all of them while I was playing them.

I like ff9’s feel a lot too, I was mostly thinking about how random it is. I finished a 100% run of it recently and it was a lot more tedious than 100%ing ffx or ffx-2 was for me.

Ah yeah I can see how a completionist run of it would be frustrating. Isnt there a ultimate weapon you can only get by getting to that point fast enough? Trying to get and do everything while also meeting that timelimit sounds unfun lol.

Yup Excalibur 2 lmao. That game has a huge shopping list of missables, you need to be on point to get that 100%.
