There definitely aren’t that many people with broken exhausts.
You can always tell which people do it on purpose because they’ll make sporty modifications to like a Camry or other low-end, beat up car and act like they’re fast just because they’re loud.

It’s pretty common in areas that put down a lot of salt in the winter. Usually takes a handful of winters but the exhaust is often one of the first things to succumb to the rust.
Yes the giant ‘mufflers’ were bad enough, lately I’m seeing & hearing poorly tuned expensive sports cars. Mass incompetence or intentional noise maker? These thing are backfiring like crazy.
Anything that makes VRROOOOOOM VROOOOOM noises when it doesn’t need to is almost certainly driven by an asshole.
