I think the problem is that US invested heavily in Israel for many decads so its very difficult to do something that could result in Israel switching alliance

You have that backwards. AIPAC has invested in US politicians for decades. The money we send there comes right back into our politician’s pockets. Biden received the most at 5 million to his campaigns.

Then there are weapons PACs. Military-Industrial Complex has every establishment politician by their grey, short, and curlies.

Fuck this world. Fuck the USA. Fuck Israel. Fuck this aggression on Palestinian civilians.

Saudi, Jordan and Egypt have been far better than israel. They host tonnes of American bases, are far more controllable and don’t try to bomb Iranian embassies to start World War 3.

America doesn’t want war with Iran.

Israel is trying to escalate their war and involve America. Especially Netanyahu who is looking stay at war as long as possible

By bombing the Iranian embassy and committing other grave war crimes Iran will have to respond. At which point israel calls big brother Joe Biden to “defend them” against Iran. Thus dragging America into World War 3.

America doesn’t want war with Iran.

That’s the funniest shit I’ve heard all week!

America has been saber rattling at Iran since the assassination of Mosadegh.

They propped up Sadam Hussein to fight a bloody proxy war against them, and then turned on him when he demanded reparations.

Israel is the party that keeps trying to egg America on into starting wars with Iran. The Iraq invasion was also heavily pushed by israel

Trump: Israel was part of plans to kill Qassem Soleimani, backed out at last moment

“When we took out Soleimani, you know Israel was supposed to do it with us. Two days before the take-out, they said, ‘We can’t do it. We can’t do it.’ I said ‘What?’ ‘We can’t do it,'” the Republican presidential frontrunner told Fox News.

“Then I had a certain general, who’s great, I said, ‘So General, do we do it ourselves?’ He said, ‘We can, sir, it’s up to you.’ I said, ‘We’ll do it,'” Trump continued.

“But Israel was a part of it. You know, Bibi was a big part of it. And we had everything planned, everything. Because what [Soleimani did] was terrible. What he did to us was terrible. Killed so many of our soldiers. Killed so many people,” he added, using the nickname of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel does not benefit the U.S. in any way. We have NATO nations nearby and even bases in Kuwait. And that’s in addition to all the carriers in the Med. They offer no strategic advantage.

We have no special financial investments with them. We do the same kind of trade we do with any other countries. A relationship with Israel offers us absolutely no financial benefit. None.

Our relationship is a favor to them, motivated mostly by religious mythology about the christian end-times that U.S. politicians are obsessed with. It’s the dumbest of all possible reasons and no one will say it out loud in the news.

We need to defund this shit. And we need to help the victims.

To who? They’re almost universally hated by any nation around them, they’ve only made it this far with the US government hemorrhaging cash and arms to maintain a foothold.

Russia comes to mind. They’d accept Israel if they could benefit from it. Also Bibi get to be a plain old dictator without worrying too much about response from western allies. In exchange Russia get access to lot of western tech.

Unlikely as Russia is heavily in bed with Iran.

Israel is a giant liability. It really doesn’t do much except control news networks and bribe politicians.

But Russia only got “to bed” with Iran recently when Iran agreed to supply them with drones.

Before Ukraine war, Russia didn’t care about Iran or North Korea.

If Israel could supply Russia with more advanced drones / weapons, I assure you Russia would switch alliance in a blink of an eye

That’s part of it - they don’t want to lose their investment. The other part is that if they do stop propping up Israel, they know another country like Russia or China will happily fill the void and reap all the benefits of the influence in the region. The US could cut ties and not be involved at all but it’s not likely it would change much, unfortunately; Israel would just continue with new backers and the US would be in a worse position.

Not that that justifies the war and all the weapon sales on the US’ part, of course. But I think, with that information, it’s easy to see why there’s some nuance to it, and why the US isn’t keen to sever ties or be too harsh a critic.
