I went back on reddit for the first time in a week just to check out r/hyruleengineering today. To my surprise I see all these new builds using a new piece! It’s from the right leg depot in the depths. I picked it up today after watching a video on how to get it. It’s amazing! But definitely not intended for use by the devs. Thoughts?

By the way if anyone wants to join !HyruleEngineering@lemmy.world please do. It was my favorite sub on reddit and I’d love to see it active here.

I haven’t experimented with this piece yet, myself, but the discovery of it gave me a theory that any object that you can fuse things onto, even “fixed” objects like the depot railing, can be somehow freed from their position and saved into autobuild. I imagine that, as a developer practice, this property is probably shared across a lot of different objects in the game world that haven’t been discovered yet. It’s making me think back about everything I’ve noticed that I could fuse objects to but not take with me. I’m thinking things like the giant gears in the Wind Temple, for example.

Bring on the giant gears! I hope you’re right. I’m no expert builder, I just went, got the piece, and put it horizontally across the top of the rear fan of my hoverbike. It flies so much better in every way now.

I’m thinking of that giant rotating cylinder in the shrine where you’re supposed to scoop a bunch of balls out of a pit. Imagine breaking that loose and building a huge steam roller.
