Why or why not and what do you use it for?

I haven’t deleted my Reddit account and I no longer go to Reddit. I’ve moved on. That’s it.
Pretty much. Keeping my account there but I don’t foresee returning. Maybe in a year or so if I still haven’t found communities I want I might give it another shot to see if it’s turned from shit to worse but I’m in no rush. Besides, this light Reddit cleanse with kbin etc. is probably good for me.
I still use reddit as well as lemmy. There are lots of communities that haven’t migrated, and probably never will.
Is everyone too afraid to say it? Porn.
Lemmy has porn so no reason to visit reddit
Reddit is the best site I’ve found for pics/gifs of porn. Nothing compares, but I left anyways when they massacred my boy Apollo
Lemmy has a thriving porn community, it’s disgusting you would love it I’m sure.
One good indicator that Lemmy is becoming popular is how many people are posting their bits on it!
Naturally I’m aware of that, however right now it’s only the main communities, smaller communities still lie dormant.
I hope you find what you’re looking for!

oh my God, how terrible!! Where, so I can avoid it?
The legend goes that if you say it three times a naked dude dressed as an embarrassed fox appears and blushes at you (with his penis out)
One of my good friends uses reddit for sex hookups, and I just can’t see something like that community taking up residence in the Fediverse unless it would be a very isolated instance that recruits only by word of mouth.
I glanced the first time and thought this said, Do you stand for nothing? I’m like wow way to come right out that gate
My apologies. I couldn’t think of a good way to word that. LMAO
Theres a couple of subs that I still like to visit that haven’t really migrated here (BlackPeopleTwitter, TikTokCringe, etc). But that’s only while old Reddit still works haha
Same thing for me. A few niche subs that didn’t quite go anywhere else, nor does it look like they plan to.
I’m also only visiting via old.reddit but will probably let go if I’m forced to download an app in the future.
There are niche communities that haven’t migrated that I’m okay with using a crappy platform to stay in contact with. That being said I’ve been using teddit until I need to post.
What’s teddit? What’s the difference?
Teddit is an open source privacy focused read only front-end to public Reddit (like Nitter for Twitter) that ensures your browser never gives them a hit. Its styled like old.reddit and there an alternate called Libreddit that follows the new style. They directly hit Reddit instead of the API so they aren’t affected by the recent drama. You can also self host them if you want even more protection.
Didn’t delete, but used a script to edit all of my comments with a link to kbin. Might as well use my account for good and help out with kbin’s SEO
Only to check if the data from my GDPR request is available yet.
I’m mostly curious to see how things pan out for reddit, but there are still some communities on there that haven’t moved here or the fediverse yet so until they do I’ll just use old.reddit with adblocker because fuck spez
I go back to check on the status of a couple of communities every couple of days. Aside from the top 15-20 posts, everything else is still the same as a few days ago. There is hardly any new content hitting the subs I used to frequent. The place is stagnating fast…
I’m glad you said that, I noticed it myself but thought it might just be me, I’m seeing almost no new content on some of my subs but others are like nothing has happened.
Yes, some of the posts on r/TrueOffMyChest and r/Advice are wild, and can’t get anything like that here, yet.
Nope, I don’t use it. I figure maybe I can tell someone about Lemmy in the future though which is why I keep it around.
I still browse r/wallstreetbets as I haven’t found a replaceable community here yet
I’m happy on Lemmy and not using Reddit for any of my actual browsing or posting.
I like to look once a day at what a mess r/all or the homepage (not logged in) has become, and report content that is not labelled correctly as nsfw or other problematic content that might cause issues… I mean, won’t someone think of the advertisers with their adverts sitting next to that stuff!
As more communities remove NSFW status, it just seems like the problem gets worse - almost like they are struggling to moderate content. How could this happen!
(More seriously, there is more actually objectionable stuff popping up on r/all because it is pulling from different subs now. I’ve seen more hate, racism etc. That genuinely should be reported if you go back and see it not only because there shouldn’t be a place for it, but also the approach Reddit has taken has had obvious detrimental effect to the content and the more reports the better.
I feel like Reddit must be in a bit of trouble as they are letting quality and control plummet and this is the first thing people see on the homepage when not logged in or on r/all.)
I have also repointed the sub I look after to encourage people to come here by linking itin the welcome message, side bar, and a pinned post.
You do not need a reddit account to view subs. I have deleted my reddit account a few years ago and could still access it via sync for reddit (until the api changes) and infinity.
