Why is there hostility towards suggestions to switch to lemmy from redditors?
I would be willing to bet a lot do not even know and/or care about Lemmy
So, same then?
Windows users don’t feel any one particular way abut Linux users.
Redditors also do not feel any one particualr way about Lemmy users–in the unlikely case of reddit users knowing Lemmy users exist at all.
Well, 99% of Windows users have never heard of Linux, so in that sense, yes.
Who cares what they think of each other, like seriously it’s like the old 4chan vs Reddit vs 9gag. Who cares what platform you use. I use 4chan, Reddit, and Lemmy. Each has their own niche and anyone who sticks to one and thinks it is the best is falling to tribalism.
I wouldn’t know you’d have to ask a redditor…

Bots don’t feel anything actually.
Worse, some see it as scam (been compared to crypto) and some see it as “hard left” like a Truth Social for tankies. Little attempt to try and understand beyond that and I‘m not going to attempt to comment about it again as I don‘t even want to give Reddit the traffic.
However, I think some more will come around as Reddit will surely enshittify further, which benefits any alternatives like Lemmy/kbin if we build communities here with interesting content.

I mean… I thought that, and that’s why I joined 🤣
Glad it hasn’t been 100% tankie, but so far I’ve felt at home with a mostly left userbase
I’m honestly happy that people who think that way are staying on Reddit.
Max Men meme “I don’t think about you at all”
Max men, Max men, Max Max Max men men men…
Damn you take my upvote
Everyone has their balance between convenience, requirements, and willingness to explore. I’d guess that most Linux users haven’t given BSD a fair chance, and further away Plan9 people lament that few people wanted to migrate away from Unix.
People get tribal over the dumbest shit.
They probably don’t know we exist lol
