you have depression :stuff:
it’s true, this was me when I had depression
Real recognize real
Possibly, or could be too many choices. I was in that spot today because I don’t want to start something big before Elden ring dlc is out, but I also want to play something that is actually top tier game. I somehow started playing Bramble.
It’s not depression and it’s definitely not “too many choices.” I enjoy gaming and having too many good games is a great problem to have.
This is clearly a systemic issue, since this sentiment has been often repeated, including in this thread. The issue is that people don’t have enough energy and time to enjoy their hobbies because wage slavery is sucking the life out of everyone.
i would argue that depression is just a natural consequence of “wage slavery is sucking the life out of everyone”

I bought a steam deck and literally most of what I’ve done so far is playing New Vegas 🤦♀️

I just want to make sure they’re still there.

Give up
Probably because of a mod thing but that would require a few minutes of effort to troubleshoot and I’ve got more important things to do with my time like sit on my couch and stare blankly into the wall for three hours

I have spent hundreds of hours browsing the steam queue, it’s highly entertaining, every time I hit “not interested” on some.interesting game and add to wishlist some BDSM sex hitler bunker game I get a little dopamine. Yes I’m an absolute cyclepath
The only thing I need to do to discover exactly which game I want to play is to try and spend an hour working on my Vic 3 mod, and then suddenly *poof* I know exactly what to play.
What’s your mod?
It’s early in development but the idea is sort of a world revolution concept with socialist states of various tendencies and levels of legitimacy squaring off against reactionary nations to spread the revolution. Still figuring out the modding tools and how the game works but it’s likely going to be heavily dependent on the Sphere of Influence dlc that isn’t out yet.
At this point I’m so inundated with games that I just have to keep a separate notebook of specific games I’m excited to play. Looking at the digital pile is just demotivating.

Quit and play Minecraft instead
I categorized my games by completion status. I only have a handful of games I’m playing at a time. I’ll also put games on hold if I’m getting bored. It’s helped manage my backlog.
Jokes on me, I haven’t even turned my PC on in like 3 years
This is the bourgeoisie but with $50,000 watches and $500,000 cars and $5,000,000 homes.
Also I suffer the same ailment but for me it definitely comes from this era of no “go-to pick up and play online multiplayer game”. BF 1942, Halo 2, Halo 3, OG Cod 4, TF2, Cod MW2, Bad Company 3, early GTA online, even WoW in its first few years all occupied this space at some point (TF2 the longest), but they’re all either gone, hallowed out, low pop dead, or the current iteration is enshittified asscheeks. The closest I can get is fiesta mode in Halo Infinite of all things, but there’s also no social culture in anything now cause voice chat is off for everything. If you have a tight group of friends for co-op, there’s a steady stream of meme games like Lethal Company, but all the previously mentioned games you could have just as good of a time solo in pubs, which makes a lot of difference.
have u tried Hell Let Loose
Can’t wait to do this once I get my new computer
I think for some periods of time I didn’t even open Steam, let alone turn on my PC. Granted, I got piles of books everywhere.
