Who shall join me this Day of Hump? :D

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Today was my first day meeting her. My regular therapist suggested I see her on the off weeks I’m not seeing him. It wasn’t too much more than an introduction, swapping a few stories, and getting to know each other.

I’m not 100% sure if she’ll be able to help me as much as the other clients she has because her history and focus are on methamphetamine. I’m willing to keep an open mind and give it some time to see if she has anything in her toolkit I can apply to my own life/addiction though.

She seems really focused on celebrating sober living and has a lot of positive reinforcement for me so far, so I’d say it’s a decent start.

My sister in law is a recovering meth addict but has been using AA to recover from both. In the corporate world we talk about “transferable skills”, I think this can apply for your therapist. :)
