What are some of your favourite tools (types of tools , brands, specific tools) or equipment for use around the homestead?

I am a fan of Stihl. I have a MS261 chainsaw and FS131 weed Wacker. Thinking of picking up one of their little battery pruners, the GTA26

Other recent acquisitions include a MUT utility trailer for our ATV and a John Deere zero turn.

Super handy but more expensive: a SCUT (sub compact utility tractor). We have a Massey Ferguson GC with a Sims cab and variety of attachments (MF blower, Woods rotary cutter, etc)

I really like these corona pruning shears that I got recently. Very easy to sharpen due to the blade being removable and I’m sure they’ll last a long time!

Drill, impact driver, and circular saw. That’s my most commonly used tools. I have DeWalt but no brand loyalty, only battery loyalty lol. My favorite tools are the little mill and lathe I convinced my work to buy

Im a fan of the kobalt 80v yard tools like push mower and weed whacker. Also ive got an old massey furguson backhoe that is just a workhorse. My cheap chineese tao tao atv is a usefull addition and helps run stuff around and pull wagons when the little tractor is busy.

I’m a huge fan of my electric chainsaw. It uses the same batteries as my snowblower so I’ve got enough juice to do just about anything and don’t have to mess around with starting and stopping all the time on bigger projects.

Never had any problems with my Kubota tractor, 10 seasons in. Just replaced all of the bucket hydraulic hoses, which cost a small fortune but that’s been the biggest maintenance. Also got a Howse bush hog that’s probably 15 yrs old and beat to hell, but gets the job done year after year. Don’t think they make them anymore, though.

Do you happen to have their leaf blower by chance? Mine I feel doesn’t blow as hard as it ought to for being new. Before I crack it open for maintenance I decided to poke around lemmy to see if anybody’s talked about them yet lol

We did that last year, but they got all mega packed into the grass from the snow. Sadly our HOA is displeased by such 😭 They’ll be turning soon, I hope you get some good colors this year!

Before we moved to where we are now, I would use the lawnmower and it’s bagging function to pick up leaves. Slow process depending on how big the bag is and size of yard

Other options might be a pull behind sweeper, if you have a riding mower or atv

Not sure how big your yard is. If it’s small, maybe a corded blower and giant extension chord
