His common sense vision for public safety involves a big increase in addiction treatment programs, most of them private and some of them involuntary, meaning during incarceration. He wants indefinite apprehension of permanently brain-damaged habitual offenders now wandering the streets, on mental health grounds. That could involve invoking the notwithstanding clause in the charter of rights to bypass constitutional concerns if need be, he said.

Nice strawman. “If you really cared you’d be destitute” - sadly I live in a capitalist society that through systemic violence makes it impossible to survive if I gave away all the money needed to survive. So, as a means to counterbalance that, I strongly support systemic solutions to the problem. Unions, progressive taxation, and charity are all valuable tools to achieve this.

Also, I’d like to point out your hypocrisy by calling me evil and wanting more evil, while simultaneously advocating yourself for less social support. If wanting to survive while supporting a more equal society makes me evil (because I am not giving all my money away), your desire to lower taxes and subsequently reduce access to public goods and services would make you even more evil by your own standards.
