Sorry for being antagonising; the pro-gun types have already been testing the waters here and I interpreted your comment as “this will actually help people, unlike banning semi-automatic firearms or stopping people from buying guns just because they beat their wives”.
They always love a solution involves someone else cleaning up their mess with no impact on them whatsoever.
