WASHINGTON D.C. — Rob Manfred, a polarizing leader and an aggressive agent of change who has overseen record revenues in the sport, received a third term as Major League Baseball’s commissioner on Wednesday, extending his contract by four years, until Jan. 25, 2029.
The deal puts Manfred in line to guide the owners through another round of collective bargaining with major league players, his third as commissioner. The current CBA expires following the 2026 season.
