From the article:

“Play is an integral part of human evolution and learning,” she says, mentioning that this is a topic she covers in her book. “Gaming, being the most refined form of play in our time, has much to offer. Instead of focusing on what gaming is not, it’s more effective to showcase its true essence. The industry’s effort to create a more diverse range of games, beyond merely violent and intense ones, will help showcase the broad spectrum of gaming as an expression of creativity.”

please elaborate. because from what I’m seeing, people are outraged over just having more character creation options or more variety of characters. i can’t see how that’s exclusion.

Many companies have been hiring only Dei candidates and excluding white people completely.

Black girl gamers is one An ex employee said it themselves.

      Many others follow the same.

Black Girl Games is one of several consulting companies that promote more diversity in games and other media. Not to exclude white people completely.

Let’s see what we can agree on here, please stop me when you disagree with my statement.

        1. Racism still exists and is a problem in the world today

        2. The best tool we have against racism is knowledge and exposure to other cultures and ethnicities

        3. Having more than two or three AAA games with a main character that is a minority will give gamers that first hand experience with the represented culture

        4. Therefore, more representation is good for combating racism and as an extra benefit is giving more diverse worlds/stories to play

        5. There are still a metric buttload of games with white main characters or character creators that let you be white

        6. Minorities will be happy to see themselves represented

        7. Diversity is not the enemy, and companies are trying to level the playing field, not erase white people

I want to know specifically what your problem with dei efforts are so we can clear up any confusion.
