IMHO, if you count Russia, you have to include Turkey as well.
Cyprus seems to have dropped off the radar as well (or is it considered fully non-Europe despite being in the EU)?
Then Georgia, Armenia and big nose
The map isn’t mine, but I guess the logic is
- Russian population here is west of Ural
- Cyprus is geographically West Asia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyprus)
- They forgot Istanbul for some reason
Nah, it’s the entire population of Russia. They only have 120M. Compared to Germany’s 84M it seems legit.
European Russia counts 109M
As usually, the decisions to make such a map are totally arbitrary.
- Gibraltar isn’t a country, neither is Faroé.
- Iceland being geographically in Europe is a farther fetch than Cyprus
Belgium and Netherlands population density clearly visible
Heh I missed it. Guess I should pay attention to the smaller countries.
It took me far too long to understand that their placement was geographical. I kept trying to figure out what the X and Y axes were.
The dot under Spain is supposedly Gibraltar? Do they count as a country?
Not me looking for my country before realizing this is Europe.
