Before looking too deeply at the lyrics, just ask yourself first, “does it make any sense you write a Christmas duet about raping a woman?” No, it doesn’t. It’s a playful song about making excuses to stay together longer. It’s kind of a crap song anyway, so I’m not even saying this to defend a sign I like; I’d be happy to never hear it again.
You are correct about this song, but keep in mind, one of the most popular wedding songs is “Every Breath You Take”, a song about stalking someone. So, I could def see a duet being made like that.
