Sounds like the calculus is simple. You either push your candidate to embrace a solution that has majority support with the democratic party voter base or risk losing a chunk of voters who’ve decided that genocide is their red line. I don’t see how attempting to browbeat them is going to work. Especially as doing that gives license to the democratic party to shift the Overton window even further right.
