Once rendered in the Latin script for use as a word in the English language (a loanword from Japanese, but still a nativised English word), it does indeed fit the category.
But yeah, I definitely didn’t get it. Didn’t even get close.
I get what they meant, but it’s a bit too “lateral thinking” for my tastes.
