I mean according to some polls the Taylor Swift endorsement negatively effected Harris. I think she’s been overexposed to pretty much everyone. And logically it makes sense. The vast majority of Taylor Swift’s audience (young women) are voting for Harris anyways. The Democrats already have secured that demographic, they need to appeal to other groups of people to win. So I guess this isn’t as bad as it seems for Trump.

In 2016, every celebrity in America begged the population to vote for Hillary. It didn’t make a lick of difference.

i-think-that Killary was so fucking unlikeable that she may have had a significantly worse showing and lost by even more votes without those endorsements.

Yeah that’s my point. A lot of the die hard fans of said celebs are voting Democrat anyways. So these endorsements don’t get them any more votes, they just serve to try energise the Democratic base. In fact, I’d even argue that such endorsements (by celebrities of Democrats or Republicans) can easily backfire by energising the opposition or putting off those on the fence.

Celebrity involvement in politics causes negative results in the UK too.

It’s not the specific celebrity, it’s celebrities in general. People do not want to get their political advice from celebs. They actually find it really offensive that they weigh in or try to use their status to influence people at all.

By contrast, I read somewhere that only the Jake Paul/Paul Logan chud ouroboros had a lower negative overall effect in surveys asking about celebrity endorsements than my-hero yet trump-anguish 's ratings remain roughly where they already were. The cult’s that dedicated.

Yeah Musk’s endorsement also makes sense as for why it would be a negative for Trump. The vast majority of Musk diehards (edgy young men) are voting Republican, the Republicans need to appeal to other groups of people to win. Same with regards to Swift’s audience also already majority voting Democrat, and needing to appeal to other groups of people to win.

I know from personal experience and decades of living around Silicon Valley that a lot of ELO~N diehards are aging gen-x junior boomers that peaked in the 90s and still think South Park is amazing.
