Weird, just by chance I had no choice about half an hour ago to lift my teenage daughter off the ground and carry her elsewhere because she was barefoot and there was shattered porcelain everywhere because my wife accidentally dropped some bowls she was bringing in.

I don’t think I’ve lifted anything that heavy in a long time. She’s not fat or anything. She’s maybe 120 lbs. But it was not fun for me. She loved it though.

Yay, props to Pops for the save from a John McClane situation!

LMAO my back aches at the mere thought of lifting anything over 50 lbs. Omg, speaking of which, my 50th is just a few months away. Argh how did I get so old

Oh I’m with you. I’m 47. I can barely lift 50 pound bags of dog food most of the time. I guess parental instincts took over.

Yeah, sometimes you just gotta take the hit and do the parent thing. You’re already halfway into whatever bad move you’re making, and you know you’ll pay for it, but you keep going anyway lol.

That’s the thing about being a parent, you do what’s necessary for your kids, even without thinking sometimes. I’m talking out of my ass, I don’t have kids. Yep, the “weight limit” thing is a thing, but what throws me off lately is the weight distribution thing and all the fun that comes with that. I’m carrying the 38 lb box of cat litter by the strap handle thing with one hand to the car (because in spite of everything that has happened in my life and everything I learned about myself lately, I still feel the need to look tough for some dumb reason) and I set it down next to the trunk, and not only am I wiped out, but my fingers really hurt and are sore for the next half hour. What the fuck is this, arthritis?
