I wonder what that means for Penta. Sign a short term deal with AEW so he and Fenix could make the move together? Jump to WWE by himself, be a solo act for a year, and then hope to reunite with Fenix?
Definitely a bit of a head scratcher…Penta’s not short on places that he’s friendly with that he and Fenix could work together over the next year, and from all reports he and Fenix aren’t trying to burn any bridges (assuming that doesn’t change with this) with AEW so he could def come back for a year…
Only thing I don’t see him doing is a WWE solo act. He’s supposedly been clear for a long while that his primary goals in the business right now is working as a team with Fenix, not as a solo act. That being said this is a weird situation so who knows~

I still think this type of control veers heavily into employee status and not “independent contractor” status and it sucks ass for Fenix because he’s the only one getting hurt by this. AEW has so many workers, half of which aren’t used, that him leaving doesn’t mean shit, and WWE is so far ahead of AEW in terms of business that this doesn’t hurt WWE at all either, so only the Lucha Brothers are harmed here.

penta and fenix are basically acting like petulent children to tony who basically made them stars even though their reckless style kept getting them hurt. i’m really so done with them; if they want to spend the rest of their career doing two minute matches on twitter be my guest.
