    Genesis 9:3

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

God says “eat animals and smoke green herb.”

They get around that by pointing out that this recommendation applies to being in Paradise, which is not applicable “on Earth”.

The apologetics for biblical veganism are as thin as the ones for biblical socialism (very). If you look at the older parts, you’ll see that this God god is very into animal sacrifices and loves BBQ.

Cherry-picking is usually a sign of failure, and that goes in all cases. The best thing to do is to chuck it. Compost it. Dump the whole thing.

Let’s be real the whole thing is made up, they can read into it however they want IMO the problem is when they try to push it on others.

Vegan christians must be absolutely insufferable with the proselytism if my experience with both groups separately is any indication, god forbid they get into crossfit too!

It also says gluttony is a sin, and because animal meat is not required in a healthy diet that makes it gluttonous in nature.

LMAO, I took this from some dumb christian website (since that’s the framework we’re playing with rn):

Gluttony is defined as the over-indulgence or lack of self-restraint in food, drink, or wealth items, especially as status tokens.

Christians: WAIT WAIT NOT THAT LAST BIT!

But also by that definition eating meat is still fine, it’s eating like 3 big macs a meal (ykwim) that’s gluttonous.

Meat has been a status symbol since civilization started. Cheese came a bit later, but it’s also a status symbol. The fact that people treat animal flesh like a staple doesn’t make it a staple, it means that those people are blind to their privileges.

Mhmm, drain a lot of blood from not animals do ya? Your leeks are leaking?

Here’s a screenshot of your link btw,

                Note

“All living creatures are yours for food.”

Frankly by these passages, I think the bible is fine with cannibalism, much less “eating meat.” As it says “just bleed it out first, is fine.”

Lmao. Meat is a luxury and you scrapped the “wealth items”. It was literally one of the biggest status symbols many moons ago. Now people just have the privilege of this luxury.

I’m not Christian but it’s quite obvious that as long as it’s not survival it would fall under gluttunous. And no it’s not survival when you can choose a moral, cheaper and even healthier diet when walking trough a supermarket that has everything you need.

            You scrapped the “wealth items”

Unsure if you missed the joke intentionally or not, but I was making fun of the hypocrisy of the mega church guys like Joel Olsteen.

            And yet:

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

            It is what it is.
